A WENCH IN THE TRENCH

The Master's Apprentice, she toils,  
in the soil,
to lay in the poly. 


MIke thinks it's a folly,
but, by golly, 
one needs this tube
to moisten the loam, 
in which is grown, 
life-giving veggies
to ingest for the best.


To Pea or not to Pea?
That is the question!
Whether it is nobler to grow or, perchance, 
is just another question! 


The Master's Apprentice,
sounds more like a 70's rock band,
or a black, leather-clad lady!


Remember this sonnet
and wear a sun-bonnet, 
to keep at bay, 
old Sol's deadly rays, 
while you toil 
in the soil. 


And god-bless little Reggie.
And hope she's not too crook, 
from digging up, 
the smelly old chook!
